About Us

Starting off as timber merchants and sawmillers with our own sawmill converting Hardwoods we have a long history dating back to 1897, the year of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, and we remain family owned - now with the 5th generation joining us in the business. Our woodturning side of the business was started around 1918 after the Great War, primarily involved in supplying the Traditional Ale Brewers across the UKand this remains the core of our activities alongside our specialist and more modern skills for laser engraving, and finishing.

We strongly support sustainable timber production whilst recognising that amenity woodlands in today’s world also have a place to play.Our range of products remains as exemplars of the woodworkers’ art and we are proud to offer these to new and existing customers alike.We are members of Woodland Heritage, as well as members of the Federation of Small Businesses.
